The Guardian reports this morning that new car sales have jumped by one third in the last month, attributable to the UK scrappage scheme. According to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) a total of almost 170,000 new cars were registered in October, an increase of 31.6% from last year. This is further great news about how the scrappage bonus of £2000 on a new car is helping boost the UK economy.
